Rhonika Thomas, (Dr. Rho) is considered a pioneer in the nonprofit sector with over 12 years’ experience. In March 2020 she created history as the CEO and Founder of the first National Nonprofit Minority Association in the world. Born and raised in St. Louis Missouri, her educational background is solid with the following degrees, BA, MA, and PhD. She is considered an expert in the field of nonprofit start up, development, and management. She has spent years dedicating her time to learning about nonprofits. Her love and passion has taken her across the world coaching and developing future nonprofit leaders. Dr. Rho created Blacks in Nonprofits the first online Facebook group community that caters to people of color in the nonprofit sector. The BIN community is open to people of color all across the world and is growing rapidly with over 15,000 in less than a year. Her mission in life is helping others to reach their full potential and giving back to her community. She believes in being a blessing to others. She established Nonprofit Newbies Consulting, LLC based out of St. Louis, MO where she provides individual consulting and mentorship. She also founded the Phenomenal I am Women's Conference series that provides encouragement, empowerment, and networking opportunities for women of all backgrounds.​ However her proudest accomplishment is becoming a proud and loving mother to three amazing children who she proudly declares are her reasons why she goes so hard in life. Dr. Cheryl “Action” Jackson is a speaker, consultant, television host, and multi-million dollar successful social entrepreneur. This visionary has struggled from experiencing hunger for her family to providing more than 15 million meals to individuals through her award-winning organization, Minnie’s Food Pantry (MFP), a charity she founded to honor her mother, the late Dr. Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing. Jackson understands the statement work hard in silence and let success speak for you. Under Jackson’s leadership, her grassroots charity founded in 2008, MFP has expanded from two employees to over 17 employees additionally over 24,000 volunteers have served with her organization. Minnie’s Food Pantry has expanded operations from a small 500 square foot building to over 28,000 square foot building that provides healthy meals, training and additional resources to families in need. Recently the highlight of Jackson’s career was getting media mogul Oprah Winfrey to be the keynote speaker for Minnie’s Food Pantry annual fundraising gala. Jackson was also received the honor of being included on Ebony's Top Power 100 people in America and her charity received recognition as Community Partner of the year from the City of Plano among other prestigious awards. Jackson has received donations from influencers like Oprah Winfrey, Mark Cuban, and Mark Burnett in support of her charity, Minnie's Food Pantry. Jeffrey Katzenberg and DreamWorks have also recognized Minnie’s Food Pantry. Dr. Jackson has appeared on The Ellen Show in her effort to shine the light on hunger in America. She and #TeamMinnies were the first winners of $25,000 on the American Bible Challenge game show. Jackson has appeared on Good Morning America where she was honored with the Hometown Hero Award by singer Rihanna, Steve Martin and Jim Parsons who also came to serve at her pantry headquartered in Plano, Texas.
